Adds Two More Employees
Washington, DC – Gonella
Kaufman LLC announced Monday that the firm will become Cornerstone
Government Affairs effective January 1, 2003.
“We feel very fortunate
to be where we are after eight months and are excited by the many
positive developments our firm is experiencing,” said Geoff Gonella,
president of the company. “The new brand is another example of the
culture and environment we are creating and the work product we are
providing. We want to be the Cornerstone of our clients’ Washington
strategies.”
Separately, the firm
announced the addition of two new employees who will help solidify
the firm’s capabilities in the areas of agriculture, education,
appropriations, and financial services.
The employees include:

Fred Clark, formerly
counsel to the House Agriculture Committee
Mr. Clark brings the
benefit of 20 years of legislative and legal experience in federal
and state government and in the private sector to Cornerstone.
During that time, he has earned a reputation as one of Washington’s
most skilled legislative lawyers in the areas of federal agriculture
programs and policy, commodity futures, and finance.

Steve Crane, formerly
staff member to Senator Barbara Mikulski
Mr.
Crane joins Cornerstone after a seven-year career at one of
Washington, D.C.’s largest government relations firms. Previously,
he spent several years on Capitol Hill, serving as assistant to the
Minority Clerk of the Appropriations Subcommittee on VA, HUD and
Independent Agencies, working primarily on housing, environmental
and scientific research issues. Concurrent with his duties on the
VA, HUD subcommittee, Crane served as Chief Legislative Aide in
Senator Barbara Mikulski’s personal office, where he shared
responsibility for handling legislative initiatives pertaining to
environmental, housing, crime, energy, defense, foreign affairs and
agricultural issues.
