ENVIRONMENT
Along with extensive
expertise in multiple energy-related disciplines, Cornerstone
Government Affairs possesses significant background and expertise in
a variety of environmentally related legislative and appropriations
matters.
Environmental Policy
CGA’s experience in environmental policy includes the drafting and
adoption of numerous legislative provisions designed to provide
Congressional direction and guidance to the Environmental Protection
Agency on issues ranging from clean air to clean water and from
Superfund to the U.S.-Mexico Border Program. Specific successes in
this area include, but are not limited to, language designed to
delay implementation of overly expensive and complicated nationwide
water discharge regulations for the states, adoption of new research
requirements before detailed, national particulate matter
requirements could be implemented, approval of extensive dredging
regulations following extensive review by the National Academy of
Sciences, and direction to concentrate efforts towards reducing the
use of animal testing throughout the environmental review and
regulatory process.
Environmental Grants
In addition to extensive, multi-year experience in environmental
policy, Cornerstone has unique background in the formulation of
legislative and appropriations measures which provide annual
financial resources for university research on a wide variety of
environmental topics, as well as to hundreds of communities in every
State and territory for drinking water, wastewater, ground water,
and storm water-related infrastructure improvements. Our expertise
in this area has assisted us in securing funding for numerous
communities for planning, design, and construction activities
associated with necessary water-related infrastructure projects, as
well as securing funding for the purchase of specific technologies
and services offered to various governmental agencies by both small
and large businesses.
