EDUCATION

Cornerstone Government Affairs possesses significant expertise and experience in the representation of a wide variety of education clients, from institutions of higher education to elementary and secondary schools and informal education providers.

Higher Education

-

We have extensive experience representing institutions of higher education, ranging from major public research universities to small, private liberal arts colleges.  Our professionals have accomplished numerous client objectives, including identifying and securing funding for campus capital projects, research programs and education/outreach activities.  Additionally, we have achieved results on numerous policy-related issues within the context of the Higher Education Act.  Our accomplishments for higher education include securing funding for nursing education, agricultural research and development, technology improvements and research laboratories, among others.

Elementary and Secondary Education
-

Our experience with elementary and secondary school districts is also significant.  In a time when state and local education budgets suffer as a result of recent economic downturns, local officials rely more heavily on the Federal Government to bridge critical gaps.  We have the experience and the knowledge to help local school districts utilize federal funds to wire classrooms for technology education, enhance teacher skills through professional development, translate research into practice, and provide expanded curriculum offerings in both traditional and informal educational settings.

Informal Education
-

In addition to our experience with traditional, classroom education, we have developed a significant practice around informal education.  Our professionals work with several non-profit organizations that provide informal education opportunities for students and their parents in fields such as American History, mathematics, biotechnology and space science.  Examples of our work over the years include helping to secure funding for a mobile science laboratory, a program that enables school children to learn about American History through field trips to a ship owned by one of our clients, and creating curriculum and electronic field trips that served over 8 million children.
